Sound Customization

I have Windows 10. There used to be a speaker customization that would give the effects of listening to music in a cave, quarry, city, mountains, forest, underwater, etc. I used it frequently, but it's been so long ago that I've forgotten how to access it, and I miss using it. I appreciate any help in this matter!

I'm only familiar with Realtek  integrated audio, but all audio hardware should have a software similar

to Realtek HD Audio Manager. The layout of the software's user interface, and the number of reverb options

    varies between motherboards.

You should be able to download a user manual for your machine that explains how the software works too.

You can pin a shortcut the Audio Manager to the Notification area on your Taksbar.

    • R/click on the Taskbar and click on Taskbar Settings.
    • In the Window that opens, scroll down the right column to... Select Which Icons Appear on the Taskbar

You should be able to enable the shortcut for your Audio Manager here.

My current ASUS Realtek Audio Manager layout .... Limited reverb on  this one. Only six options.

No Mountains, Jazz or Club, etc. that my other machine has.

Hi Sean, Microsoft have removed those Enhancements - we all miss them !

    The only options currently are:

Right click your volume icon and choose Playback Devices

Select your Speakers and click Properties

    Then click the Enhancements Tab:

    Hi SeanDunn1

    Try this

Control panel> Hardware and sound> Sound or simply by right-clicking on the speaker icon that appears in the Windows 10 taskbar and selecting the Sounds option that appears in the contextual menu that is displayed.

If we want to deactivate all Windows sounds, we have to go to the Sounds tab and in the Sound Combination field, which will be configured by default with the Windows Default option, open the drop-down menu and select the No sounds option.

This will disable the effects of Windows 10 sounds, however, if we also want to deactivate other sounds like the one that is played when Windows starts, then we must uncheck the box Play Windows Start sound that appears at the bottom of the Sounds tab.

Still, we may still hear some sounds of Windows 10 while we use our equipment, since certain program events can play them. In the same Sounds tab, we can find a list with all the sounds associated with the program events. From there, we only have to select those that we want to deactivate and in the lower part of the window, where it puts Sounds, open the list and select the None option.

If we want to keep certain sounds but we want to personalize them and choose the ones that we like the most, we can also do it from here, even from the Browse button we can add own sound files for the system to play with the chosen event.

    I hope it helps you
