Huion 420 pen randomly stopped responding.

My Huion 420 graphics tablet has been working fine for around three months. Today, after trying to reconnect a glitchy external mouse and succeeding (while it still is loose in the USB port and goes on and off with working), the pen on the tablet stopped responding. The tablet only occasionally responds to being plugged in (as in the LED lighting up), and the pen never responds. I've tried reinstalling the drivers, changing the tablet's USB cord, changing the pen's batteries, and even chanhing the nib on the pen. Nothing has worked. I have also noticed that "420" would come up in connected devices in the main settings menu for devices, but doesn't anymore. I take it that the computer doesn't recognise the tablet anymore.

    Hi N yx,

Since you already performed most of the troubleshooting steps to fix the pen, it might not be software related anymore. I suggest that you run and install the Microsoft easy fix solution for devices and hardware on this link.

If the issue still persists, I suggest that you test the pen and tablet on another computer and check if it functions there. There is also the possibility that it's the USB port itself as well. You can refer to your hardware manufacturer's manual for diagnostic tools you can use for identifying hardware issues.

    Regards.
