All Games / Programs Run in Bordeless Windowed mode

So Yesterday I decided to install my new SSD so that I could have more space on my computer. I decided to Install Windows on one SSD and most of my programs and games on the other. All was fine until I noticed that all of my games now run in Bordeless Windowed mode, and usually take more to load. This is a little bit annoying because I have less FPS in game and when I press Caps Lock or Num Lock, the game just kind of freezes or stutters.

I can see that it's running on Bordeless Windowed mode because before installing my new SSD all of my games were in fullscreen. When I pressed the Windows Button, it would minimize the game, meaning it would show one thing at a time (Either Desktop + Startup menu or the game in fullscreen). Now, when I press it, I see the game and the startup menu. Plus, volume up and down bar also shows up. This is something I was not expecting, considering that a lot of gaming Laptop computers these days have usually a small 256 GB SDD for Windows and a 1 TB HDD to store the games.

Is there anything I can do to avoid windows rendering both desktop and game at the same time?

My Specs:

Lenovo Legion Y720

OS: Windows 10 Pro

Processor: Intel Core I7-7700 HQ 2.80 GHz

Ram: 16 GB

Graphics: Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 + Intel HD Graphics 630

Storage: 512 GB SSD + 240 GB SSD

    Hi, thanks for your reply.

I actually found a fix for this solution and it wasn't any outdated driver or anything.

To fix this, I simply needed to go to the Proprieties of any shortcut and then under the Compatibility tab and select Disable Fullscreen Optimizations on any game that would run on Bordeless Windowed mode.

    Hi Filipe,

Game issues such as what you are experiencing is mostly due to an outdated graphic driver. I suggest installing the latest chipset and video card drivers from NVIDIA website to fix video performance issues.

    Keep us updated.
