Windows Media Player won't play .cda files

Windows Media Player in Windows 10 won't play .cda files.  Please advise.

    Try ripping the audio files through Media Player instead of copying directly from disc:

    Click the Audio disc in the left pane of the Windows Media Player, then click the Rip CD button at the top of the window.

    Hi Steve,

    CDA files are shortcuts on a CD that refer to the hidden wav files on the CD

    If you copied the CDA files from a CD, you need to rip that CD to your hard drive using Windows Media Player and that will work . . .
