How to Turn Off Auto-Rotate

I have my screen orientation locked as landscape. I exclusively use my surface with the keyboard attached. I use my Surface as a passenger in a moving vehicle most of the day. Every time the vehicle makes a hard turn and often when going over bumps and sometimes when sitting still the Surface senses movement and tries to auto-rotate. The interrupts what ever input I was trying to make. Often times it stops the input from the keyboard, forcing me to disconnect and reconnect the keyboard to initialize it again.

How can  actually turn off auto-rotate? I do not really want to turn off gravimeters but that seems to be the only way to do this. I can't believe that at this late date Microsoft hasn't improved the logic of the feature.

    Try this.

First detach your keyboard from the surface.

Then go into tablet mode... click notifications bottom right and you will see an option for tablet mode.

Then go to start - settings - systems - display.

Then set the rotation lock to on.

    Attach keyboard.

    See if that works.
