Deleted Windows Movie Maker

Hi. I wanted to edit a movie with Windows Movie Maker, when I realized the .exe of the application was deleted. I tried downloading Windows Essentials 2012 and reinstalling Movie Maker (I also used Microsoft install/uninstall tool) but it didn't help. I think there is a problem in the installation process of Windows Essentials, because when I open "Apps and features" and search for "Windows Live Essentials", both "Modify" and "Uninstall" options are disabled (greyed out). Is there a way to bring movie maker back?

I am using a 64bit Windows 10 Pro.

The link you provided as "Safe Download of Movie Maker".

No, I do not receive an error during the installation, but when it's finished I still don't have the Movie Maker app.

If you open your Start menu and begin typing "Movie Maker" does it find anything?

Also, if you navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\Windows Live\Photo Gallery, do you see MovieMaker.exe?

If you do find MovieMaker.exe, just right-click and pin to Start Menu or pin to Taskbar.

Which link didn't work? Did you find the download? Did you get an error during installation?

Unfortunately the link you provided for installation didn't work either. What I wanted to do was to trim a video. I know I can use other apps and softwares, but Movie Maker was really handy.

Movie Maker was previously provided as part of Windows Essentials 2012 which could be loaded on Windows 7, 8, 8.1 and 10. But it was officially retired January 2017.

Movie Maker went away on January 10, 2017

That link provides more details along with a link to find an archived copy of the Windows Essentials 2012 installer.

Since you are on Windows 10, the recent Fall Creators Update included an update to the Photos App that allows you to create movies from photos and videos. I would start investigating that as a way to create your movies in Windows 10.
