Ever since the last Windows 10 update I am constantly getting the Hmm can't reach this page message. I have researched this and followed all the suggestions but none of them work. My broadband connection speed is good. The web pages will eventually load after I refresh. Is there a solution to this or am I just going to have to live with this annoyance?

Most if not all these suggestions I have tried already although I went through them again after the posts. I am still having the issue. I have been using the Edge browser ever since I got the Windows 10 upgrade when it first came out. I never or rarely experienced the " Hmm... Can't reach this page" message and when I did get the message it was because of connection loss.  The only thing I haven't done is change my network from Private to Public since that would stop me from sharing my printer and other services on my network. This issue just started recently and seemed to coincide with the latest Windows update. My suspicion is I could spend all day trying different solutions and it won't make a bit of difference until Microsoft figures out what they did and send a update to fix it.  Thanks for trying though.

Hi Thomas. I'm Greg, an installation specialist and 9 year Windows MVP, here to help you.

If you want to express your opinion on this to Microsoft use the Feedback Hub app in Start Menu where developers are tasked to process consumer feedback. They will not even see it here. This is a tech forums staffed mostly by volunteers trying to help others with your problems.

Back up your Favorites first in Edge Settings > Import from another Browser > Export to a File.

You can reset Edge in Settings>Apps>Apps and Feature, scroll down to Microsoft Edge, highlight it, choose Advanced Options, then Repair, or if that fails, Reset.

If that doesn't help then try re-registering the app following Option Two here: http://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/3175-apps-re...

If necessary you can reinstall it from this link: http://www.intowindows.com/how-to-reinstall-mic...

For Edge freezing issues, see his fix: http://www.thewindowsclub.com/microsoft-edge-br...

I would have several other browsers available to choose from on the Task Bar since Edge is a work in progress and unreliable. I use Firefox, Edge and Chrome in that order of preference. You can import Favorites from each other easily in Settings.

If nothing else helps then run a Repair Install by installing the Media Creation Tool and choosing from it to Upgrade Now. This will also bring it up to the latest version which you need anyway and by the most stable method. http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-10/m...

I hope this helps. Feel free to ask back any questions and let us know how it goes. I will keep working with you until it's resolved.

    Hello

    How are you

Thanks for posting this response in the community,

the error of Reasons Behind Edge "We can not access this page"

There can be many reasons for Edge to have this problem. The best known reason relates to the DNS client that might have been disabled after upgrading to Windows 10.

Depending on the reason, I mentioned earlier, there are a number of methods that should try to make Edge work again. Follow these methods and see if it works.

Method # 1: Enabling DNS Client

DNS client is important for the internet to work. The reason behind Edge browser to not work properly might be because of DNS client being disabled. So, re-enabling it might of some trick. Follow the steps below to re-enable DNS Client.

    1. Search for Services using Cortana inside Windows 10. When it is displayed in the search results, select Run as administrator by right clicking over it.
    2. Inside Services Window, locate DNS Client from a list of services located at the right. Right click over DNS Client and select Start. It would enable the DNS Client and Edge browser would start working properly.

Method # 2: Changing DNS Values

Changing DNS value might work in most of the cases where the above mentioned method does not work. To do this, follow the steps below.

    1. Right click on the start menu icon located at the bottom left of the Windows and select Network Connections.
    2. If you are connected to the internet through Wireless adapter or LAN adapter, right click on that adapter and select Properties.
    3. Inside Properties window, navigate to the Networking tab and select Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP / IPv4) from the connections Click on Properties button at the bottom.

When you are inside Properties, click on Use the following DNS server addresses radio button and enter the following addresses. Click on OK button afterwards. It would solve the problem for you.

Method 3: Check the Internet Explorer add-ons

Even though Edge is meant to completely replace Internet Explorer, Microsoft ships Windows 10 with both internet browsers. Getting this issue with Edge can be fixed by making a small modification in Internet Explorer.

    Open Internet Explorer.

Click on Tools, and select Manage Add-ons.

Once inside, click on Search Providers.

You will see a checkbox saying Search in the address bar and the search box on the new tab page. Make sure that the checkbox is checked.

Close everything, and try opening the webpage in Edge again.
