Sticky Note Location

Hi all, I have already searched this up but I cannot seem to use the provided answers to locate my sticky notes.

I saw that stikynot.exe should exist within %windir%\System32\  However in this directory I do not see the exe file.

Then, I saw that the snt file containing the sticky notes should be in the location C:\Users\Alexander Bosch\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Sticky Notes\

However when I go to the Microsoft folder, I do not have a directory titled "Sticky Notes" in the folder so I cannot find the snt file.

I even did a search on my entire C drive for *.snt and found nothing. Can anybody help me locate my sticky notes file so that I can back it up?

Thanks!

The first step to saving and restoring your Sticky Notes is finding where Windows 10 keeps them. To do that, press Windows key + R, type the following in the search box then hit Enter:

    %LocalAppData%\Packages\Microsoft.MicrosoftStickyNotes_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalState

Copy the file plum.sqlite file to a USB thumb drive or another backup source.

Connect the USB drive to the other device where you want to restore them, open the same Sticky Notes folder, then copy and paste the plum.sqlite file into the same folder. Click Replace the file in the destinationwhen prompted.

Close the folder, restart your computer just to confirm changes then launch Sticky Notes on the other device. You should see your Sticky Notes on your new device.

Copy & paste this into the address bar of Windows explorer:

    %AppData%\Microsoft\Sticky Notes & look for StickyNotes.snt.

Microsoft may have changed the location with 1803 update.
