This is a bug that appears to have been introduced in the latest update for for Windows 10 1803.

Try performing a repair upgrade or use an alternative photo app such as the free IrfanView until this issue with Photos is fixed.

This is widely reported and known issue at the moment. We're expecting a fix from Microsoft, in upcoming Windows Updates.

As of now, you can use classic Windows Photo Viewer to view photos:

To edit Photos, you can use MS Paint or third-party program such as Paint.net, IrfanView.

This is caused by a bug in the latest Windows 10 update

Hundreds of users have been reporting this over the last few days

Hopefully Microsoft will release a patch for this bug soon as there is no fix currently

Please report this on the Feedback Hub, the more users that report this, the quicker Microsoft will come out with a patch
