How to enable Java script Windows 10 Home MS Edge

How do I enable Java script Windows 10 Home MS Edge?

When is Microsoft going to teach their technical staff about Windows 10 (1803) Home and Pro differences, and how to operate and configure it?

Why is Microsoft charging so much for a crippled Windows !0 Home OS?  Am I being forced to buy Windows Pro to get an OS that actually works?

Hi Ed. I'm Greg, an installation specialist and 9 year Windows MVP, here to help you.

See here how to enable JavaScript in Edge in Pro version: https://www.whatismybrowser.com/guides/how-to-e...

Apparently there is a way to do this via regedit in Home version. See MVP Robert Aldwinkle's recommendation here: https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/edge/forum/...

I hope this helps. Feel free to ask back any questions and let us know how it goes. I will keep working with you until it's resolved.

    Greg Carmack,

Thank you.  I’m running Windows 10 Home.  The solutions do not apply.  But It seems Java Script may be enabled in Edge.  I still get an error that Java Script is not enabled.

I planned to use MS Edge as my browser, but I decided to install Chrome.

hello how are you, thank you for responding and be aware of the indications to solve the problem, if it is enabled it could be a registry error uninstall and install the IE again and it's good that you want to try Chrome since you have other possibilities and get what you want

    Glad to help

Hello, how are you, I send this information to you, I hope it helps you

Many Internet Web sites contain JavaScript, a scripting programming language that runs on the web browser to make specific features on the web page functional. If said program has been disabled within your browser, the content or the functionality of the web page can be limited or unavailable.

To allow all websites within the Internet zone to run scripts within Microsoft Edge, you'd need to enable Javascript through the Windows Group Policy Editor, follow these steps:

    1. Click on the Start menu, type Edit group policy and select top most result to launch.
    2. Expand the User Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components folder.
    3. Expand the Microsoft Edge folder.
    4. Double-click Allows you to run scripts, like Javascript.
    5. Choose Enable and click OK to confirm.

Note: The following instructions will not work in the Home or Starter editions of Windows; Group Policy Editor is not available in these editions.
