Instructions on how to send a file with Drop Box

I sent a file & pics to a professional firm using my scanner & outlook in Windows 10. I received an email stating, " I'm not who you intended to reach. Please don't use this email. Drop box would be better. Sent from my iPhone. Typed with thumbs." (They used the email address that I used in sending.)

Do you have easy to understand instructions on how to use Dropbox? Where do I start. Am a complete novice.

They did not send the file back. Can I assume they have received, but will only will accept via Dropbox?

It is an important document involving a governmental regulatory body.

    Hi Cliff

If you want to send files to someone using Dropbox, here are the Steps

    Open DropBox in a Browser - https://www.dropbox.com/

    Login to DropBox

Put those files into a new folder on your PC

Drag that folder into the DropBox window

Wait for the files to upload

At the right hand side of that folder in DropBox, click 'Share'

    Then click 'Copy link'

Then send that link to the person you wish to share those files with

    That's It!

Dropbox is not a Microsoft product. If you have Dropbox questions, you should ask in a Dropbox forum. Here's the link: https://www.dropboxforum.com/t5/English/ct-p/En...

How to share a Dropbox folder is described in this article: https://www.dropbox.com/help/files-folders/shar...

Note: these are not Microsoft web sites.

You can share files using OneDrive, if you wish. That is a Microsoft product and if you have a Microsoft account, you have at least 5GB of OneDrive storage automatically. Here's an article that explains how to share files with OneDrive: https://support.office.com/en-us/article/share-...
