    It pins some stuff like folder, apps you've installed on your PC, and some shortcuts to Start screen. That's it if you don't know about that function. 😀

    I have Win 8.2.  No, I didn't install the classic start menu.

     In Win 8 the Start Menu is the same as Start Screen.  When right clicking on a file, among the options which come up are "Add to Start Menu" and "Pin to Start."  If the latter does the same as the former, why have both options?

    Are you using Windows 8 or 8.1?

    I only have the option Pin To Start on my context menus.

    Do you have any programs installed that add a classic start menu to your system?
