Hi. Recently I was sent three emails and one of them put a virus on my computer.

I need to know how to get rid of it. The virus is this: Pcdrwi. exe.

It is in my C drive, Program Files.

I can see it on my Task Mgr. Which is how I discovered it, and has been there since July 13, 2018, when the third (infected) email arrived.

Thanks in advance to someone who can inform me how to rid this thing.

    Hi VIcki,

That file (Pcdrwi. exe) is associated with PC-Doctor for Windows

You should go to Control Panel Programs and Features and uninstall that utility

Also check your Windows Startup items and remove it from there:

Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager

    Click on the Startup Tab

See if PC-Doctor for Window or Pcdrwi. exe is listed there

If it is, select it and click 'Disable'

    Close Task Manager

Click your Start Button, type msconfig and hit Enter

When the System Configuration dialog opens, click on the Services Tab

Check the box marked 'Hide Microsoft Services'

In the remaining list see if PC-Doctor for Window or Pcdrwi. exe is listed there, uncheck any you find

    Click Apply and OK

Restart your System and this annoyance will be gone . . .

Hi Vicki. I'm Greg, an installation specialist and 8 year Windows MVP, here to help you.

Run a full scans with Malwarebytes and AdwCleaner:

    Hi Seth,

I could not find the program in any of the three areas you described.

Could this be causing my sleep mode to be inoperative?

If you have a Dell Computer pcdrwi.exe and other PC Doctor chunks of code are installed by Dell Support Assist. If you uninstall Dell Support Assist PC Doctor stuff will be removed.
