Notepad to create web page

I bought a book to learn web design.  I am a novice on Chapter two.

They said to use Notepad to establish a web page.  With their instructions I was able to create a simple web page.  The web code was typed into Note pad then saved.  More code was added and saved.  It was automatically saved under my web browser Chrome.  The fourth addition did not save to Chrome.  I tried retyping and saving in different ways but still nothing was under Chrome.  In short no web sight after draft 3.

Does anyone know what I should do so the codes are saved as a web site on Chrome?

Thanks

Typically notepad saves would be into your documents folder as a .txt file.  Usually you would want to change the extension on the file saved from .txt   to .HTM or .HTML and then your default browser would open it as a webpage when you run that file.

Notepad is just a simple text editor. It saves a fil to the folder where you tell it to save. If its file type is .htm and you try to open it by double clicking it, then whatever web browser you've specified as the default for handling ,htm files will open it. There's no limit to the number of times you can save a file with Notepad.
