Windows 8.1 stuck in startup bootloop with various error codes

Hi there,

Major problems here. I'm not a techie so please keep it simple.

My toshiba sat P840t (windows 8.1 64bit) is stuck in a bootloop with various errors coming up. Since moving countries I have lost both the installation discs and product key.

I have access to the UEFI settings and have bought recovery software which gives me access to the Diagnostics and Recovery Toolset (DaRT), but so far everything I've tried comes up with further problems.

The laptop wont reset due to being unable to find a partition.

Can't refresh it either as "drive where windows is installed is locked".

Recovery disc option also just loops. 0xc0000225 error

System restore only gives me two very recent restore dates and then returns the error 0x80070005

I'm wondering if the best solution is to buy new 8.1 ios software and try to uninstall then reinstall it? However I will also need instructions how to do this with the above limited options available.

Reinstalling from the Toshiba recovery partition does just that.

I can get to the startup recovery menu no problem, and ran the "auto repair" option a number of times but no joy. Also the "reset your pc" option returns "unable to reset. A required drive partition is missing"'.

I'll see if I can make an 8.1 ios software disk from the free downloads on the microsoft website, but I have to get to another computer as I dont have another one readily available.
