Can anyone help me figure out this mess? I'm no computer expert, but have been able to use some forums in the past to fix issues on past laptops. This one I just can't figure out! Many Thanks

Hi Dannielle. I'm Greg, an installation specialist and 8 year Windows MVP, here to help you.

I would run a Repair Install by installing the Media Creation Tool from this link: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-10/m.... Choose Install Tool Now button, after it installs open and choose from tool to Upgrade This PC Now. This solves many problems and will also bring it up to the latest version which you need anyway and by the most stable method.

Afterwards update your drivers from the PC's Support Downloads web page. Compare the latest drivers with the ones presently installed in Device Manager reached by right clicking the Start Menu. Make sure you have the latest BIOS, Chipset, Display (Video), Sound, USB3, Bluetooth, Network and all other drivers, or else download and install the latest now.

I hope this helps. Feel free to ask back any questions and let us know how it goes. I will keep working with you until it's resolved.

I did not recommend driver apps or Optimizer Suites as they cause more problems than they solve.

When you have completed the steps I gave you then I will have more if necessary.

No trouble at all. This works best as an interactive process. I give you steps and you complete them and report back results, or ask further questions to get them done. The results of each step May indicate additional steps but generally the problem will be resolved if you complete the steps I have given you here.

    Hi Greg,

    I appreciate your reply.

I followed both of your suggestions but sanitycheck still seems to think there is an issue with the registry.

I did find your tip on pc support downloads useful though, as I didn't realise that I didn't have TVSU pre-installed (it's a relatively new laptop).

There was only one driver that was an optional update, so that doesn't seem to be an issue. I also regularly use driver booster, so hopefully drivers shouldnt be too much of an issue in this laptop!

    Thank you for your suggestions!
