Hello , i have an app called timer resolution , it brings back something that was before on windows xp , but , is it safe to use on a laptop ? i have an geforce 940mx 2gb gpu and an i7 7500U 2.7 up to 3.5 ghz cpu, and i want to use it to improve my fps a bit while playing games. It will make the gpu or the cpu to run at high temperatures ? Because i already ran this tool on another laptop , the gpu was running very hot , but there was another issue , i made a few bad settings in nvidia control panel . thanks!

    Hi,

    Sorry for the delayed response.

It was designed for Windows XP and may not be compatible with a Windows 10 system. However, you may try using compatibility mode when installing the application.

Ensure you have a Windows Recovery USB  in case something goes wrong.

Personally and this is strictly my opinion, I don't recommend using the app.

Glad to hear it. If experiencing issues in future, ensure you have a Recovery USB. Hope all goes well for you.

You might consider running a virtual machine on the unit.

"It’s also a good way to run older applications, if they’re not compatible with the version of the OS that you’re running. And you’re not limited to Windows, you can also run Linux, and while it’s not supported, it’s also possible to run macOS alongside Windows 10."

Create Virtual Machine with Hyper-V on Windows 10

I already ran this program and my games are running a bit better , no fps drops , and stable fps .

I use it only when im playing , it seems to give more more fps , at least 10-20 , and it fixes the fps drops.
