Here is an example - for some INSANE reason, you people removed the option to hide the timer while recording. So this means that now, after your horrible update, if I want to record anything, that hideous timer is right there, in my face, covering important parts of the screen as I play. Which makes it unusable. So I can't record anything anymore and will have to find an external program to capture videos from now on. I can't think of any possible reason Microsoft could have had for making this decision - why would you take away the ability to hide that thing? What could that possibly accomplish except to frustrate users and render your DVR worthless?
Hiding New Game Bar when Recording
Previously, when recording, we had the choice of hiding the record icon.
Now, at the very least I don't know how to do that. The following icon appears and nothing I do hides it.
Can it still be done? If so, how?
Furthermore, there's still a shortcut to show the timer, which I don't understand since it will always show. I tried to change the shortcut for showing it but it doesn't do anything.
It's troublesome in particular when I play some old games in low resolution and the timer shows very big, covering an important part of the screen. Is there at least a way to make it transparent or something?

2018-07-11T02:03:18+00:00 I'm having the same problem. I HATE the new gamebar. It's ugly and doesn't function half as well as the one we had before, especially now that they've - for some insane reason - removed the ability to hide the timer!! What were they thinking? Why would anyone take that feature away? NO ONE wants to be forced to have something covering part of their game.
You told the first poster that this can be undone and that we can go back to the old gamebar. But how?? I desperately want to uninstall this new version and get the old DVR back. But I didn't try using the DVR until a couple of weeks after the big update, and by that time Microsoft had removed my ability to "go back to previous version of Windows" - another ridiculous thing! Why would they take that option away after only 10 days?
You make it sound like this unwelcome update can be uninstalled on its own, without a whole rollback, but I don't see how. What updates are we supposed to uninstall? I looked in the View Updates History section when this first happened and can't find any option to uninstall these updates in particular. What am I supposed to uninstall to get the old gamebar back? Because I was using it all the time and now this new version is completely unusable.

2018-05-18T18:59:28+00:00 Hi LeviathanTheEsper,
Normally, You can play your games while recording it in the background. It seems that background recording is not enabled on your computer that's why the Game bar is showing up when playing your games. Let's check if background recording is enabled by performing the following steps:
- Press the Windows key, then select the gear icon to access Settings.
- Go to Gaming.
- Select Game DVR.
- Under Background Recording, check if the toggle switch is enabled.
We look forward to your update.

2018-06-09T04:02:20+00:00 I know it was caused by the update, which modified the entire game bar.
And I don't know what to troubleshoot, it doesn't seem a bug or anything; just a removed feature.

2018-05-19T05:50:35+00:00 Yes, it was disabled. It seems to be a nice workaround.
It seems to work in a different way to record what I want. I may be mistaken, but the only difference I see is the Record Now option, which does the trick.
But is there any way to record from a point A to some point B without the timer appearing and staying? The Record Nowoption can record more, or less, but not exactly that (Of course, I can make it record more and then edit the video). A week ago I would have been able to do that just clicking the arrow which appeared in the timer, which doesn't appear anymore.
