has "★" symbol (formerly ALT code: alt + 9733) been removed character map / list permanently?

I am using the latest builders version of Windows 10 and have noticed the star code is no longer recognized and no longer available for use.  Pls advise

    I am afraid you are incorrect.   I am speaking about the specific star character as provided above.  This one ★ specifically.  This is no longer available for file explorer and related native files in Windows 10 as per the character map.  See for yourself.   

    Also, I apologize for not being clear.  I thought it was obvious things like * asterisk can be substituted for ★.  But nah... ★ is ★

    Hello John,

    The ALT + 9733 results to ♣ symbol. There are star-shaped symbols in other fonts, such as wingdings, wingdings 2 but fonts are not specified in the alt (ascii/unicode)code itself. If you search the web using Bing or other search engines. You can find a complete list ALT symbol codes.

    If you're using an application like Microsoft Office, you can go to Insert > Symbols > Symbol > More Symbols.
