broadcom 802.11n Wireless SDIO adapter and bcmfn2 Device

I just got bricked by a Win10 update.  I didn't get to see which one and I don't know if it was an Insider preview or not.  Hopefully whatever it is the Insiders can help with the resulting issue.

On reinstalling Win10 Home my Wifi adapter is not working "This device cannot start (Code 10)".  In addition the bcmfn2 device is unable to start as it is dependent on the Wifi adapter (SD\VID_02d0&PID_a9a6&FN_1\4&32d17375&0&0) "Code 51".

I immediately got an update to the version I now have, but the issue persists.  After going on numerous forums I find that this is happening to hundreds or people over numerous brands of computers, mostly tablets and some laptops.  It is happening with a variety of Win10 versions and no one can find a resolution for this.

My question is why is no one at Microsoft doing anything about this.  Many of the forums I've been on are Microsoft forums so I assume Microsoft is aware of it...maybe not. :(

I have removed and reinstalled the drivers (the most recent and one previous without a change in symptoms...as have most of those I have observed.

I have a NuVision TM800W610L with Win10 Home 64-bit v1803 build 17134.112.

The Broadcom 802.11n SDIO driver is 1.596.12.0

The bcmfn2 device driver is the same.

Any assistance will be appreciated by many.

I had the same problem and manually downloading the drivers from catalog.microsoft.com fixed it.

My computer reported version 1.569.0.0, so I picked the 1.596.12.1 one and it worked.

i'm about to try this driver. i just bought this tablet and going back to a previous version of windows means back to windows 7. i've been using 1803 for almost 2 weeks and didn't encounter this driver problem until today. will update you if this works.. i have to sideload it to the tablet.

    <<UPDATE>>

The driver version you suggested worked like a charm. AND i wanna add that the ping and throughput times are both WAY more consistent with this version as well. kudos and thank you.

Unfortunately there was no previous version on the machine after the update crashed...no bootable device found.  I started from scratch at that point.

Any recommendations as to what version should work and how to download anything but the most recent offered by the Microsoft site?

Can you try downgrading to an earlier version of Windows 10 to see if it resolves the problem?

There seems to be some early adopter issues at this time with Windows 10 1803, if you can, I recommend you downgrade to your previous version until the Spring Creators Update matures with future cumulative updates.

Open Start > Settings > Update & security > Recovery > under Go back to my previous version of Windows 10, click Get started.

    or

Press Control + Alt + Delete

    Click Sign out

At the Sign In screen, hold down the shift key on your keyboard while clicking the Power button on the screen

Continue to hold down the shift key while clicking Restart

Continue to hold down the shift key until the Advanced Recovery Options menu appears

    Click Troubleshoot

    Click Advanced options

Click Go back to the previous version of Windows

Windows Update might attempt to upgrade to Windows 10 1803 again. See instructions how to block it:
