    Hi,

You need a Laptop or Wi-Fi capabilities in your Desktop:

Make sure that you have downloaded and installed the latest Wi-Fi Drivers for your Model Laptop and Operating System from the Laptop manufacturer's website.

Go to their website > Drivers/software/Support Downloads Section > key in your Model Number and Operating System > download and install the Wi-Fi Drivers for your operating system.

Also read the Manual for your Model which you should be able to download there, too.

And some Laptops have a physical switch to turn on Wi-fi.

Read under these different headers at the above link:

    1. Enable with laptop Wi-Fi button
    2. Enable with laptop Fn and Function key
    3. Enable in Windows

Note: In Windows 8, when you right-click the Wi-Fi icon, check to see if Airplane Mode is turned on. If it is, turn it off to enable the wireless network card.

    1. Enable in Windows Device Manager.
    2. Enable in CMOS setup

    Cheers.

    Hello,

To turn on hotspot using Command Prompt, run this command:

    netsh wlan set hostednetwork mode=allow ssid="HotspotName" key="password"

Here, you need to replace HotspotName with the any name of your choice. Other devices will be able to observe your created so called WiFi network with this name. Replace password with minimum 8-digit passcode.

    Then run following command:

    netsh wlan start hostednetwork

After executing this command, you’ll simply receive ‘The hosted network started‘ message.

    Hope this helps!
