How to permanently remove AdChoices

AdChoices' ads keep popping up all the time towards the top of my screen page whenever I open the Edge browser of Windows10.  It is incredibly annoying and aggravating.

It happens on my first screen, the MSN home page, and on ANY other screen that I open, no matter what my search is and whether I use Bing or Google.

-  AdChoices and Evidon, the company that creates AdChoices, offer no solution: they respond to nothing.

-  When I look at my Task Manager, I cannot identify any process related to AdChoices or Evidon and I have no idea under which other name they might hide their application.

-  My Windows 10 settings are to block all pop-ups, which does not help at all.

Does any one have an idea on how to remove AdChoices permanently from a Surface Pro 4 tablet?

Hi Eugene. I'm Greg, a volunteer installation specialist and 8 year Windows MVP, here to help you.

Run the best on-demand scanners to root out adware which are Malwarebytes and AdwCleaner: http://filehippo.com/download_malwarebytes_anti...

    http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/adwcle...

If you want to keep Malwarebytes as a free scanner change from the Trial version to Free Version in its Settings under Accounts.

But AdCHoices I believe works in webpages from cookies that are cached from sites. To keep these cookies cleaned out and have the least intrusion from interest ads, I would run Consumer Opt-Out here: http://www.networkadvertising.org/managing/opt_...

I hope this helps. Feel free to ask back any questions and let us know how it goes. I will keep working with you until it's resolved.

    Hi Eugene,

My name is Bulldog, and I've been fighting ads for years. Those buggers have gotten tougher and tougher to defeat over that time. And many ads, known as malvertisements, actually contain malware.

What works for me is an ad blocker. There are several great ad blocking extensions for your browser, including AdBlock and the one I use: uBlock Origin. I don't see ads from AdChoice or anyone else because they don't even make it to my computer in the first place. These extensions are free and available from your browser's app store.

A bonus to using ad blockers: All the major extensions include a method to manually stop ads that are able to elude the ad blocker's own controls. You can use the same methods to block annoying elements on a web page that are not ads. Comes in very handy sometimes!

Obviously, ad servers don't like ad blockers so they're constantly trying to figure ways to get past the blockers and the blockers are constantly trying to defeat these efforts. No web blocker can be perfect, but they work very well! I wouldn't even know what AdChoices was if it weren't for my Android phone.
