How about fixing the program instead of putting the burden on the customer to fix MSFT mistakes/errors?? Ridiculous geek excuses.. Fix it so it works as advertised??

This browser is no longer supported.
Upgrade to Microsoft Edge to take advantage of the latest features, security updates, and technical support.
After a recent update on my desktop machine (running with a digital certificate) I discovered that I could not start any windows office applications (word, excel, access, PowerPoint etc.). The Edge browser also will not start. I have also noticed that Windows update always stalls and does not fully execute. On occasion it gives an error message about missing critical components. Otherwise the machine works. Interestingly enough I am using the faulty machine to lodge this post with Internet explorer which does work. Prior to the eventful upgrade the machine in its current configuration has been working for years. Please help.

They clearly have no freaking clue why it doesn't work.
Update service has been BROKEN ever since M$ started this useless 'feature pack' baloney.
Absolutely MISERABLE programming, QC, and product.
These clowns cost me about a week every month as an enterprise admin.
LOUSY product, and no interest in fixing it.
Hey Don. I'm Greg, an installation specialist and 9 year Windows MVP, here to help you.
If this was caused by Windows Updates then you can check which were installed at Settings>Update & Security>Windows Update under Installed Updates, then uninstall them from the link there, and hide with the Hide Updates tool downloaded from here: http://download.microsoft.com/download/f/2/2/f2...
You can also use System Restore to get before the problem began, then check for Updates with the Hide Update tool and hide them: http://home.bt.com/tech-gadgets/computing/how-t...
Repairing Updates:
Open administrative Command Prompt and type following commands one-by-one followed by Enter key.
net stop wuauserv
net stop cryptSvc
net stop bits
net stop msiserver
Ren C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution SoftwareDistribution.old
Ren C:\Windows\System32\catroot2 Catroot2.old
net start wuauserv
net start cryptSvc
net start bits
net start msiserver
Close Command Prompt and see if Windows Updates works then
Repairing Office:
Go to Settings > Apps > Apps & Features > Microsoft Office > Advanced Options > Modify > Repair.
Repairing Edge:
Back up your Favorites first in Edge Settings > Import from another Browser > Export to a File.
You can reset Edge in Settings>Apps>Apps and Feature, scroll down to Microsoft Edge, highlight it, choose Advanced Options, then Repair, or if that fails, Reset.
If that doesn't help then try re-registering the app following Option Two here: http://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/3175-apps-re...
If necessary you can reinstall it from this link: http://www.intowindows.com/how-to-reinstall-mic...
I would have several other browsers available to choose from on the Task Bar since Edge is a work in progress and unreliable. I use Firefox, Edge and Chrome in that order of preference. You can import Favorites from each other easily in Settings.
If nothing else helps then run a Repair Install by installing the Media Creation Tool and choosing from it to Upgrade Now. This will also bring it up to the latest version which you need anyway and by the most stable method. http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-10/m...
I hope this helps. Feel free to ask back any questions and let us know how it goes. I will keep working with you until it's resolved.
