My calculator puts in multiple numbers when I only try to get one.  How can I set it to not do this?

Do you mean that you get several 7s when you press the 7 key just once? If so then your keyboard might be defective, or you might have pressed the 7 key for too long. I would borrow a friend's external USB keyboard and check if the problem persists.

Do you mean that when you're trying to enter 1 (for example), 11 gets entered instead?

Does this happen when you type in an application such as Notepad?

If that's what you mean, it sounds like a keyboard problem.  As a test, click Start, type OSK.exe in the Search box, and press Enter to open the On-Screen Keyboard.  Does the problem happen when using the On-Screen Keyboard?

Do you have a laptop or desktop/tower?

If you have a laptop, what is its make and model?

If you have a desktop/tower, what is the make and model of your keyboard and how is it connected to the computer (USB, PS/2, wifi, Bluetooth)?

If I misunderstood your problem, please clarify your question.
