My system is 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor

According to this page on Canon's website:  "Canon will not issue drivers for this model to support the Windows 10 operating system. The Windows 7 drivers should function in the Windows 10 environment with some limitations which are currently unknown to Canon."

Canon doesn't support your scanner on Windows 10. That means Canon hasn't tested your scanner on Windows 10 and hasn't updated the driver to keep up with the changes to Windows.

Therefore, Canon doesn't really know whether your scanner will work on Windows 10  and can't help you if you run into problems on Windows 10. Canon thinks that the Windows 7 driver will work, but they can't be sure.

So your scanner may work on Windows 10, or it may not. If it works currently, it may stop working after the next update to Windows. Without support from Canon, you're on your own.

The best thing to do in this situation is to post a question in Canon's own Community Help Forum and find out if anyone else is successfully using your scanner on Windows 10 and, if so, how they were able to make it work.

Hi Simeon. I'm Greg, an installation specialist and 9 year Windows MVP, here to help you.

Confirm you have downloaded the latest drivers from the Canon Support Downloads web page for your exact model or Serial Number. Make sure you also have installed the latest firmware.

Then if the driver will not install try installing it in Compatibility Mode:

    https://www.windowscentral.com/how-install-non-...

    https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/win...

If that fails then Go to Settings>Apps>Apps and Features to find and Uninstall the scanner software.

Next type CMD in Start Search, right click Command Prompt result to Run as Admin, copy and paste in the following command and press Enter: printui /s /t2 (Note that there is one space before each forward slash).

Open the Print Server properties, Remove the scanner's drivers for this printer and for any other printers you don't use presently.

If you get a message about access denied or the printer being in use and you cannot find the driver or any installed program that would account for this, you may restart the computer in a diagnostic startup and then use the printui command to remove the driver package(s): https://www.isunshare.com/windows-10/enable-dia...

You must restart back to normal mode before you will be able to install the scanner again.

Now type Control Panel in Start Search, open CP, choose Icon View. In Control Panel open Devices and Printers, right click the scanner to delete the Printer and any scanner or fax of the same name. Restart PC.

Now try installing the driver software again, if necessary in Compatibility Mode.

If you have further problems reply back with results of each step.

I hope this helps. Feel free to ask back any questions and let us know how it goes. I will keep working with you until it's resolved.
