Unable to use Bluetooth on Asus laptop

Hello.  As the title metioned, I'm having trouble using the Bluetooth capabilities of my laptop. Any help provided wold be really apreciated.

I'll try to explain the problem itself and what I already tried to do in order to solve it:

This afternoon I was listening to music on my smartphone through Bluetooth headphones. My headphones usually get interference from the laptop's Wi-Fi and Bluetooth and my Wi-Fi network, so I enable the airplane mode on the laptop and turn off the Wi-Fi router.

A few hours later I went back to the laptop to watch some Youtube videos, turned the Wi-Fi router on and disabled the airplane mode. The laptop connects to the Wi-Fi router but the Bluetooth icon doesn't appear on the notification area. I go to the Action Center to turn Bluetooth on and nothing happens. Next I go to Bluetooth settings (didn't notice anything out of the ordinary) and try to use the toggle there, only to find out that it does nothing (the toggle itself works but nothing happens). That's when I suspected something was wrong.

I tried disabling and enabling the Bluetooth adapter in Device Manager as well running the Bluetooth troubleshooter which didn't work, so I restarted the laptop thinking this problem would solve itself, but no. The laptop boots back up, I enter my PIN code and Bluetooth still doesn't work, but that's not all. Now the Bluetooth toggle on Action Center is gone, the Bluetooth settings are nowhere to be found. Next I went to Device Manager and saw something strange, every driver related to Bluetooth (headphones, smartphone and some sound related drivers) are missing (even with the hidden devices option checked), except the Bluetooth adapter driver which is showing the error 43. This error somehow is constantly showing and disappearing within intervals of 2 to 5 seconds. Already tried uninstalling the driver and restart the laptop but this doesn't fix anything. Windows just installs the driver again when it starts up.

I tried to explain this as best as I could, but if I missed something or there's anything else that could help find a solution, fell free to ask.

Tanks in advance for any help and I'm sorry if my english is not the best around here.

Thanks for both of your answers.

After I read your posts I tried some of the procedures suggested. I tried a System Restore to about to weeks when some critical updates were installed but it didn't work. I also tried uninstalling the Bluetooth adapter driver through Device Manager and installed the one on the Asus support page for my laptop but this didn't work either. The last thing I tried was do a System File Check through CMD which I left running over night. This morning the SFC said that it had found some corrupted files and had fixed them. I rebooted the laptop as requested and at first it looked like everything was the same, but about an hour later the Bluetooth icon appears and it seems to be working just fine.

Now I am inclined to mark this post as the solution but I don't know if the SFC really fixed this problem. Also, I don't know how to mark as post as the solution, so I would be grateful if you could help me with that.

Thanks for all your precious help solving this problem on my laptop.

I have a course of action that will hopefully solve your issue, I need to know the model of your computer for step 2, You can try this first. Use device manager and uninstall the Bluetooth adapter and let windows attempt to find drivers and reinstall it. Step 2 would be to go to the manufacture website and download the proprietary drivers for your Bluetooth component.

Let me know if you have problems finding your drivers, just give me the model of the computer and I'll find them for you.

    Hope this helps!

    Very Respectfully

    See Fixes here:
    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/14169/...
    http://superuser.com/questions/823894/how-to-ma...

Try the Bluetooth troubleshooter at Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot.

Try turning off Fast Startup at Settings > System > Power & Sleep > Additional Power Settings > Choose what Power buttons do > Change settings that are unavailable > uncheck Fast Startup.

Try Updating the Bluetooth driver from the PC maker's Support Downloads webpage for your exact model. Install it even if it's the same or newer than the one in Device Manager reached by right clicking the Start button.

Right click Start button to access Device Manager, locate Bluetooth device (if necessary from View tab Show Hidden Devices), on Driver tab see if Roll Back is available, if not try Update Driver, first automatically, then Browse, then Let Me Pick to try all previously installed Drivers.

If these fail try to Uninstall the Driver, restart PC to reinstall.

Then try pairing again, if necessary run the Bluetooth Troubleshooter again.

If this was caused by Windows Updates then you can check which were installed at Settings>Update & Security>Windows Update under Installed Updates, then uninstall them from the link there, and hide with the Hide Updates tool downloaded from here: http://download.microsoft.com/download/f/2/2/f2...

You can also use System Restore to get before the problem began, then check for Updates with the Hide Update tool and hide them: http://home.bt.com/tech-gadgets/computing/how-t...

Go over this checklist to make sure the install is set up correctly, optimized for best performance, and any needed repairs get done: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/wiki...

Start with Step 4 to turn off Startup freeloaders which can conflict and cause issues, then Step 7 to check for infection the most thorough way, then step 10 to check for damaged System Files. Then continue with the other steps to go over your install most thoroughly.

If nothing else helps then run a Repair Install by installing the Media Creation Tool and choosing from it to Upgrade Now. This solves many problems and will also bring it up to the latest version which you need anyway and by the most stable method. http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-10/m...

I hope this helps. Feel free to ask back any questions and let us know how it goes. I will keep working with you until it's resolved.
