Minecraft Win10 edition - iPad players can no longer connect to PC game but Xbox users can

Having played Minecraft Win10 Edition with a local map for many months, and just recently iPad users can no longer join our local map/game.  Xbox users can join.

iPad users are logged into Xbox Live as normal.

PC user/host can see the iPad users in Minecraft as logged in.

Sending an invite to iPad users from Minecraft seems successful.

iPad users never get the invitation in their Minecraft game.

This used to work perfectly in the past with iPad users joining a PC hosted game.

No changes have occurred with Firewall settings, or Antivirus.

Rebooting PC and restarting iPads do not help.

Xbox users can join without any problems.

According to https://support.xbox.com/en-US/xbox-live-status the Xbox service is back online.   However, our issue still persists.

Very confused as to how this game can regress after a new update come out, breaking the ability to game with others across multi-platforms.   This worked perfectly for months across, PC, iPad and Xbox One, now it's broken.  :(

In this case, as I've mentioned previously, this would only mean that you are affected of this known issue as stated on the 3rd item on the Xbox Live Service Status website. Please stay tuned and monitor if the issue would persist through the website, as we assure you that our developers and engineers are on the case.

If you have additional questions, please let me know by replying to this thread. This way, I'll get notified and respond back to you as soon as I can.

    • Are you able to go to the internet using your mobile device, while being connected to your home network?

Yes.  All wired, wireless devices connect to the internet without issue.

    • Is the issue the same when using other user profiles or when sharing files on your network, between you mobile device and you PC?

Multiple profiles experience this (4 total).  Only occurs with iPad, using Xbox profiles trying to connect to a PC Minecraft game.  If these same users/profiles use the Xbox One, they are able to connect to the PC Minecraft Win10 game.

    • Have you tested other user profiles in game if the issue persists?

    Yes, see above.

The behavior occurs regardless of user.  The only commonality is that the users are on iPads trying to connect to a PC Minecraft Win10 game.

    Thanks

    Hi JelloBurger,

It could be possible that what you experience, maybe more of a connection in between the game and your devices. In order for me to have a better idea, I would like to clarify the following:

    • Are you able to go to the internet using your mobile device, while being connected to your home network?
    • Is the issue the same when using other user profiles or when sharing files on your network, between you mobile device and you PC?
    • Have you tested other user profiles in game if the issue persists?

In the event that this happens to a specific user on the game, I recommend that you reinstall your Minecraft. However, if you experience this regardless the user on the game, as an initial troubleshooting, you can run the network troubleshooter. You can do that by performing the following:

    1. On your keyboard, press the Windows button + I to open the Windows Settings screen.
    2. Click on Update & Security.
    3. On the left pane, click Troubleshoot to open the list.
    4. Next, look for Incoming Connections on the list and highlight it.
    5. Once selected, click on the Run troubleshooter button and go through the prompts to perform the automatic repair.

If in case that you're using the cloud service of your Minecraft, or your Xbox account to be able to use your characters for Minecraft, you might want to also refer to this article for further information on Xbox service status.

If you continue to have this issue even after performing the above steps, please reply to this thread. The system will notify me so I can get back to you and provide you more answers.

Thank you for keeping me posted of the results. Just to clarify, have your checked all versions of the game installed on all devices, if are they the same? Because all devices should have the same versions as much as possible. Games that are running of different versions, can cause games to sometimes not detect one another. At this point, I would recommend to ensure that all versions across devices are the same. If not, best to roll back the version of the game to it's last version.

In the event that you've already ensured that all versions are of the same on each devices and you still experience the issue. Please don't hesitate to keep me posted on this thread, for me to assist you further.
