I did some research after giving you my first response: All the items you have pinned to your Windows taskbar automatically get a keyboard shortcut which is a combination of the Windows key and their numerical position on the tool bar counting from left to right. Don't count the Task View icon on the far left.

Take my taskbar for example, Windows key plus 3 would start Chrome, Windows key plus 8 would open the Control Panel.

Click on the Windows Icon in lower left corner of the screen and type control panel in the white search box. Right click on control panel in search box and choose pin to start or pin to task bar.

It is definitely getting more complicated and settings are harder to find.

I think Microsoft's intent is to hide some panels from the average user ( Control Panel, Power Plan Panel, etc) but in doing so they have made it very hard to learn. Things are very unorganized and the old expression used in Maine when a visitor asked for directions 'You can't get  there from here' applies to this version of Windows 10.

Microsoft seems to be more interested in their 'Toy Store' than spending time creating a powerful, easy to use operation system.
