I can't detect my 5ghz network with my computer, and I know it should support it. I can connect to the network on other devices, but not this one. Please help!

Might look in device manager at the network adapter & try the advanced settings on the wifi adapter wireless mode set for Automatic.

I don't have any clue what you're talking about. there is no automatic mode. I have one for the 2.4 ghz band, but nothing else can be set to auto

Hi Alex, thanks for that . . .

That card only supports 2.4GHz networks, sorry !

Frequency band support (i.e., 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz) comes from the network adapter, not Windows.

When you click on the WiFi icon in your notification area (on the right side of the Taskbar) do you see a list of wireless networks and, if so, can you choose your 5 GHz network?

If not, you should install the Windows 10 driver for your network adapter, which you'll find on the adapter manufacturer's website. If your adapter is still not detecting the 5 GHz frequency band, that's a question for the adapter's manufacturer.

Hi Alex, it is likely an 802.11n card will not support 5GHz, usually that is 802.11a or 802.11ac, however let us check:

Open Device Manager (accessible by right clicking your Start Button)

Expand out the Network Adapters section

What is the exact model of your WiFi Card listed there?
