I cannot get this driver to load without an error message for the fax utility.

Does anyone know a work-around?

Thanks, Caroline

    Hi again,

Thank you so much for your very prompt response.  I have the Epson Pro 4730 printer.

I did try downloading just the driver for the fax, and I did not received an error response.  In any case, I am able to fax manually and use the printer and print from Quicken.  Those options are fine with me.

Again, thank you.  Best wishes Caroline

May I know the make and model of your Epson fax machine? If you continue to encounter this error when using the updater, try completely removing the Epson driver software, manually download and install the latest driver from Epson website.

In addition, running the driver installer using the Compatibility mode might help resolve this issue. To do so, right-click on the driver installer. and select Troubleshoot compatibility.

    Regards.

    Hi,

    Thanks for responding so quickly.

I've tried that, but it doesn't show anything.

Apparently, per epson, I'm supposed to contact microsoft regarding the issue of the Epson Fax Utility not loading.  A "an error occurred while installing" message comes up.  Per the updater, it continually tells you to update/download this file, giving the same error message.

    Hi Caroline,

May I know what error message are you getting? What is the make of model of your machine? In the meantime, try running the automated troubleshooter for hardware and devices. Here are the steps:

    1. Right-click on Start menu, and select Settings.
    2. Select Update & Security and click Troubleshoot on the left pane.
    3. Select Hardware and Devices, then click Run the troubleshooter.

Also, make sure to download and install the latest fax driver from Epson website.

If you need further help, let me know by post back. I will get back to you as soon as I can.
