Onedrive access via a VPN

Why does access to Onedrive not work when using a VPN...for example Norton's VPN.   Onedrive acts like I do not have a network connection and will not allow my to sync the file between my PC and the Cloud service.

    Greg:   Appreciate the reply.   Some info relative to the blog;

    1 - Not using a Docking Station

    2 - Norton VPN doesn't seem to allow adjusting Software Config Settings...

    3 - Split Tunnelling - was set ok

    4 - Proxy Settings - was ok

    5 - Not connected via a Lan cable

    6 - Updated Excel, but still have problem.  

    Other sites seems to work...bank access, broker access, amazon,
