Hi Guys,

I recently purchased the Microsoft Wireless Display Adapter so I can mirror my Dell Vostro 3550 laptop (Windows 10 Version 1803) to my Sony TV. Despite trying to connect several times, I just couldn't do it successfully. I searched online and learned that Intel(R) HD Graphics 3000 is not supported in Windows 10. I am not sure what that means, I've checked and my software is up-to-date and all, but I am still looking for a solution so I can connect to my Microsoft Wireless Display Adapter.

Can you please help asap

Here are the information to my system:

Hope to hear from you soon.

Regards,

Andrew

It does appear that the wireless display adapter isn't going to work with your model.

Are you a fan of Chrome? Check out this article:

    https://www.lifewire.com/use-chromecast-to-show...

Note: This is a non-Microsoft website. The page appears to be providing accurate, safe information. Watch out for ads on the site that may advertise products frequently classified as a PUP (Potentially Unwanted Products). Thoroughly research any product advertised on the site before you decide to download and install it.

You should be able to cast your desktop with Chrome / ChromeCast. This solution will probably work for you.

    Hi Charlie,

I tried going through Settings > Devices > Add a Device to connect, but it just stalled there for some minutes then it says on the TV that pairing failed.

And when I tried using the Connect app, this is what it opens to:

I can't do much using the Connect app. I see from other users that it could be due to Windows 10 Version 1803.

Any ideas? Perhaps I should look for a third party software so I can cast to the Microsoft Wireless DIsplay Adapter instead of using Windows 10 built-in since it's obviously not working for me. Do you know of any?

    Andrew

    Hi YanAndrew,

The laptop is a little bit older, but I feel like it should still work here.

Have you downloaded the MS Wireless Display Adapter App - https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/p/microsoft-wir... - See if we it has any updates to install on the adapter.

And when you’re trying to connect, you’re using the “connect” app on the pc, right?

Does it give you any sort of error? Let me know, and we’ll try to figure this one out!
