So I removed the device from the device manager, and allowed windows to auto detect and install the drivers.
The scanner seemed to be recognized, so I restarted the PC and tried to start software. Although it appeared in the device list, the software could not detect it. In the device properties, it appeared to be working, and did the diagnostic test which it passed.
I'm running Windows 10 64 bit. When I download the Windows 7 x64 drivers, and try to install it extracts, then says, This program might not have installed correctly-> Install using compatibility settings, or This program installed correctly.
I show a folder which is the extract of the files downloaded [lide60vst6411111a_64en]. I opened it and ran SetupSG.exe. Not sure what it did, but it ran and I'm still at the same screen.
The CanoScan LiDE 60 appears in Scanners and Cameras, but won't open in any software.
In Windows drop down, I now see an application Scan. In the drop down I see the HP, and I do see the CanonScan. I select it, and it says; Problem connecting to scanner. We can't find a scanner. Attach it to your PC or go to PC settings to add it. Then once I close that dialog, it's no longer in drop down.
In device manager under imaging devices, its listed with no ? and I try to update driver, and it says it has the best drivers for this device already installed?
Not sure where to go from here.
