I am running Windows using VMware Fusion virtual machine.  When I start Windows I send Ctrl-Alt-Del to go to the logon window.  The keyboard is not functional to enter password.  The mouse works (to send Ctrl-Alt-Del).

Try to boot into safe mode

Power ON your computer and as Windows / manufacturer's Logo appears, Power OFF - Repeat 3 times

Now your computer will go into Advanced Recovery Environment

Advanced Options > Troubleshoot > Advanced Options > Startup Settings > Restart

Press 4 or F4 to enable Safe Mode (5 or F5 to enable Safe Mode with Networking)

Log in once Windows starts in safe mode

To get into Windows, at Logon screen - At the bottom right, you will find many icons. One of the icons is Ease of Access. Click that and select On screen keyboard. You can use this On screen keyboard to get into your computer.

Please try these options one by one and check after each option.

    1. Run Keyboard Troubleshooter

Type Troubleshoot in Windows Start Search box > Click Troubleshoot > Scroll down and click Keyboard > Run the troubleshooter > Follow onscreen directions

    1. Uninstall & reinstall Keyboard Driver

Windows Key+X (Or right click on Start) > Click Device Manager > Expand Keyboards > Right click on Standard PS/2 Keyboard > Uninstall > Reboot the computer to reinstall
