What does ‘enter network credentials’ mean?

I try to connect to my laptop but it asks to enter network credentials. I don’t know what I need to enter. Help please.

    Hi Melanie,

    If you get a Network Credentials popup, you should be able to turn off that requirement . . .

    Open Control Panel

    Go to Network and Sharing Center

    Select Change advanced sharing settings in the left pane

    Expand the network you want to disable password protected sharing on by clicking the down arrow on the right of the profile

    Select 'Turn off password protected sharing' and then click Save changes.

    Hi Melanie, ‘Network Credentials’ means a user ID and password so you need to enter them to the computer you're trying to connect to. It can be a Microsoft Account or a local User ID.

    If you don’t know what to enter, check your Windows credentials. Do the following steps:

    Click on the Start button - type Windows credentials - press Enter.
