Hardrive not accessible. Parameter is incorrect

Over the past few weeks, I have had no luck on accessing my second hard drive. Every time I click on the hard drive, windows explorer crashes and then says"Hardrive not accessible. Parameter is incorrect". Is there any way to get it accessible again?

Thanks

Raw is not a good file system type your drive has been compromised. If data is not important you will need to format the drive to NFTS.

If the data is valuable you will need a recovery program like like the one I used to recovery from the latest Microsoft Windows update of Windows 10.

    Hi Mohanmehra,

Sorry to hear about your issue.

    Try the following method:

    1. Plugin your device(it can be your External Hard Drive, USB etc) to your PC.
    2. Open the Command Prompt. You can press Windows Key + X command and select Command Prompt.
    3. Now, type chkdsk E: /f /r. Here, ‘E’ can be replace with the Drive Letter of your external device connected.
    4. *The above steps will run CHKDSK to check and repair File System Corruption, errors, corruptions or bad sectors on your device which might be causing such error – ‘*Drive Is Not Accessible. The Parameter Is Incorrect'.

Hope the above information will help you.

    Good Luck!

    Hi mohanmehra, I need to see your drive/partition layout . . .

Open Disk Management (accessible by right clicking your Start Button)

Please provide a screenshot of that Disk Management window . . .
