File.exe changed into weird icon

    You have been infected, please perform the scans as indicated in the other thread

    It would be a good idea to backup your data prior to performing those scans . ..

    May I ask one more question:

    Open Windows File Explorer, go to C:\Windows\Resources\Themes

    Is there a file there named icsys.scn?

    Hi Snwflake

    Scan one of those with your preferred Anti-virus or Defender to make sure it is safe, then double click one of those exe's - does it try to open in Internet Explorer?

    If you don't feel safe doing that, please upload a small file from that list to the Cloud (OneDrive, DropBox . .. etc.) and I will investigate this for you . . .
