Display scaling at 100% makes apps and letters too small

I have a Dell Inspiron 15 7567. When I first got it, I thought that the apps were too blurry and they were too big, so I fixed it by changing the scaling from 150% (which was the recommended scaling by the system) to 100% and it was perfect.

Recently, my notebook suffered some problems and I had to send it to the Dell repair center in order to change its motherboard.

When it came back, the size of the letters and apps were apparently the same, but I noticed they were too blurry.

Now, the recommended scale setting for my computer is 125% and if I change it to 100% in order to fix the blurriness, everything gets too small.

I already tried to "Let Windows try to fix apps so they're not blurry", but this is just a checkbox with no functionality.

It is almost like the computer thinks that I'm using a 21.5-inch iMac as a display monitor and not a 15-inch monitor.

Here's a comparison

125% (recommended by system)

100% (non-blurry apps and unreadable letters)

If you are happy with the 125 size try ....

Control Panel > Fonts > Adjust Clear Type Text.

This will run you through some screens where you can adjust the

fonts to suit your vision, and may help reduce the blur.

If you have not already, try setting the custom option ('not recommended' - Yeah! right.) @ 115 or 120, which you

may find a bit crisper but still large enough.

I use 120 @1080p with a 24" monitor. I've left the 'Let Windows fix...' option off as I don't think Windows knows what

best suits my eyes and I don't want it to mess with my Clear Type setup.

Now I wish MS could get their act together and make it possible to use different settings when running

two monitors as I need 130 with my main 27" 1440p monitor, but find this a bit too large for the 1080p second monitor.

    Hello!

Did you go into Display settings and change resolution to the correct res? It may be that dell changed the res to something smaller/something different.

Without an old photo of what 100% looked like, it's hard to tell what the issue is since I can read 100% and 125% perfectly fine.

It was on the correct resolution, which is 1920x1080.

This resolution was on my computer before I sent it to the repair center.

As I have described before, the issue is that on 125%, most apps are blurry (even after logging off, restarting, whatever). On 100%, everything is too small.

For a comparison: 100% (before "repair") = 125% (after repair)

(Sorry for the late answer. Microsoft asked me at least 3 times if I wanted to be notified about any replies and I said yes all those times. I even gave them a e-mail address. They did not notify me.)
