Hi,

recently i got a sennheiser gsx 1000 dac. The dac lights up 2 times during boot up but went to sleep mode at the login page. Need to replug the usb to wake it up. I have reformated my pc;turned off fastboot and power saving of the usbs. Sennheiser has kindly replaced a new dac for me but the issues remain. Further the pc company has sent a technician to take a look at my system and upgraded my psu but to no avail. Would appreciate any advice please.

    Try this:

Go to control panel > power options > Change advanced power settings > click the plus under USB and change "USB selective suspend setting" to disabled and restart the PC to try again.

Hi, tried and it is not working too. I also notice that whenever the dac went to sleep during the first boot up, it will continue to go to sleep after the subsequent restarts. Thanks!

Good day! I apologize that you are having this issue and I am hoping we can work through it and fix it.

First, this is an ongoing issue many have had, and believed to be an issue with the DAC and not windows (at least in most cases)

    1. To fix this, you can try to uninstall the DAC drivers (and all other audio drivers) then unplug the USB and plug it back in. See if that fixes it.
    2. Make your sound devices look like this with the GSX 1000 disabled and speakers enabled: https://prnt.sc/jgmolc

Hi, there, I have done the above mentioned but it does not work. Also Sennheiser has replaced a new set for me - this is the second set that I am trying.

    Dear Zackary,

Before proceeding to the ''booting up in the safe mode procedure''; I would like to check with you if I have done this step correctly. After I had uninstalled all audio drivers and replug in the USB, the (previously deleted)drivers will reappear again in the device manager? Currently, I have turned off automatic device installation settings(under advanced system settings) for this step. Also, under sound playback, I have disabled all devices except GSX 1000 Main audio(default device)  with the rest being disabled. Cheers.
