I haven’t been doing anything different. The speed was great before but literally switched to unusable.

Would some processes just randomly start up out of the blue and completely anhialate the computer’s use?

the only process that seemed particularly high was chrome because i have loads of tabs open. But i always have loads of tabs open for my work, i cant be that.

Hi, thanks for that. I did it all and the whole process took a few hours. I then restarted computer. I seemed back to normal for about 5 mins which was incredible.... but then slowed right down again and has been unusable again.

    Any other ideas?Thanks

    Hi.

I recommend using SFC. During the analysis carried out by SFC on the files of the system, it will check the versions of each one of them and in case it finds one that has been overwritten or is damaged, the tool itself will proceed to recover a good version of that file to replace it. It is a tool based on the command prompt that offers several commands to perform these tasks of file analysis and recovery.

Check this link, it is to run (Scannow and Dism) that are used to repair Windows system files.

Open Task Manager: WinKey + X, then press the T key

What processes are using most of your CPU and RAM? They're what's making your computer run slowly.

What I can recommend is that you completely repair the operating system, but first you must backup your files, although with this method the data is not lost but it is a good idea to backup as a security measure, third-party applications if they are uninstalled, check this link.
