Windows 7 USB/DVD Download Tool

I downloaded the Windows 7 USB tool using Windows Edge and Explorer. Both fail to complete the conversion of a Windows 10 ISO file. I was directed by Microsoft Service to use the Windows 7 USB/DVD Download Tool. I tried a different USB memory stick and it locks up at 11%, 74%, and 4% completion. The only message is that it failed. Any help would be appreciated.

    Hi David,

Try to use ISO from this resource - Download Windows 10 -> https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/software-downlo...

    Instructions:

How to Download Official Windows 10 ISO files Using Media Creation Tool or Directly Using your Web Browser -> https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/for...

How to Prepare Bootable Install Media for Windows 10 - DVD, USB or SD Card -> https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/for...

When you will create installation media if you are using antivirus that temporary turn it off.

When issue still persist try to create installation media using different network connection or change DNS settings.

If you have any questions let me know

If you are currently on Win 7, download the Win 10 media creation tool and select to create one for another system.

    https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10

The download tools are tied to a specific .iso download.  I am downloading the file now in Win 7 so I can create install media on a USB drive.

I looked for a Windows 10 version but Microsoft did not indicated there was a version for 10 only. Don't understand that either. But I was able to download the Rufus application and I was able to create the boot-able Thumb drive. Thanks for your response.

    Mark,

Thanks Mark. I already did download from the Windows 10 ISO location mentioned. I did go to the next site you recommended and downloaded the Rufus application. I also turned off the virus program and used Rufus and all went according to the instructions. I have not tried the thumb drive yet to install windows 10 on my SSD but will do soon. Thanks again
