Nokia Lumia 900 wont hard reset

I am trying to hard reset my Nokia Lumia 900 because after not using it for like  years I have forgotten what the pin to unlock it was.

However, when I try to factory reset it by holding down the volume+power+camera keys it doesn't hard reset but instead shows a picture indicating that I need to plug it into my pc.

If I plug it into my pc nothing happens.

Please how can I hard reset this phone and be able to use it again?

    Hello! Stephanie,

Sorry about you having these issues, i found a detailed youtube video of how you hard reset your device.

    https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=WiZ4MoiKdNk

If this doesn’t work please let me know and i will look into other methods you could try.

    Good luck

    Reset an unresponsive phone

    1. Press and hold the Volume down and Power buttons at the same time until you feel a vibration (about 10 to 15 seconds).
    2. When you feel the vibration, release the buttons, and then immediately press and hold the Volume down button until you see a large exclamation mark.
    3. Once the exclamation mark appears, press the following four buttons in this order: Volume up, Volume down, Power, Volume down. Your phone should now reset and restart itself. (It might take a while for the reset to finish.)

I’ve been trying to help Stephanie for a few hours and i could’nt find anything remotely as helpful as to what you just posted. Hopefully this can allow Stephanie to remove that annoying pin code!

    Again thanks

    Good luck Stephanie!

Oh okay, sorry to hear your still having problems.

You don’t just simply attach the phone to a computer, you need the software on the computer. But its the software we now need to figure out what you need to factory reset your device.

Unless you don’t need to factory reset, maybe an update could fix this issue.

    https://devicesupport.swisscom.ch/nokia/lumia-900/software-update-reset/update-phone-software/

It may still ask you for the pin but its worth a try.

Let me know what the outcome is

    Goodluck

Nope tried that too.... i actually found that same video too in my attempt of figuring it out.

When I do this is simply restarts the phone taking me back to the home screen where I need a code to get in.

I have also tried all the methods from this website www.hardreset99.com/nokia-hard-reset/nokia-lumia-900-hard-reset-how-to-factory-reset/

..... and they all just take me back to the locked home screen except for the 3rd method, and then I get whats pictured.

Then if I plug it in like it wants it does nothing at all and about 5 minutes later resets and goes back to locked home screen again.
