Hello,

Is it still possible to update maps on Nokia 5230 via Ovi Maps?

I have tried but it is always offline.

Is there an alternative?

Best regards,

Miguel Ribeiro

Unfortunately you would need to add map data manually but is still available; if you are running Ovi Maps v3.03 you need 00.01.29.100 mapping.

You need to access Wayback machine here, it is left hand of the two links on page:

Remember that you also need POI data in ClientIndex, POI files to be placed in E:\cities\diskcache\ClienIndex and may need to create ClientIndex folder. You may find tutorial for Belle devices here helpful as procedure the same just smaller data sets on 5230:

    Hello,

After your response, thank you very much, I can remove the new maps.

After downloading the file from the site #http: //mp107.xaa.pl/nokia_maps_v_00.01.29.100.html ", what phone folder should I put it in? I have tried several folders but do not read any map.

I've used the "cities" folder to put the new maps.

    Will it be there?

Is there a manual that explains how to apply the new files to the 5230?

Right now I download it to my PC. Then I put the fifeiros in the folder "cities". Is that all?

    Thank you,

    Miguel Ribeiro.
