    If you mean that you want to use the SCAN button on your Brother HL-L2390DW to "Scan to Email Attachment" as described in your User Guide here (see below), you can't do that with Gmail because, as explained above, you can't make Gmail your default email client.

    The Scan to Email feature does not support Webmail services.Use the Scan to Image or Scan to File feature to scan a document or a picture, and then attach the scanned file to an email message.

     The machine scans to your default email client.

    The printer/Scan  brother model is HL-L2390DW. After scanning  my document, I would like to send it to my gmail. This will enable me to send it to who ever I want. Unfortunately the old email is no more active. I need to change it to my gmail.

    Please explain your issue in more detail.  Also please provide the specific model of your Brother printer.

    You need to provide more information about what you're trying to do and what happens when you try.

    Are you trying to use the right-click menu to "Send to mail recipient" and getting an error such as "Check that an email program is installed and then try again"?

    If you have an email program installed, go to Control Panel>Default Programs>Set Default Programs, find your email program in the list, select it, and click "Set this program as default"
