    Hi CJ

Remove the two screws indicated in the image below, then prise the battery out of the casing, in a backwards movement away from the laptop

    Hi, CJ,

This is an HP video on removing a laptop battery. It should be similar to the Toshiba unit.

    https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c00293579

    1. Fully Charge Laptop Battery to 100 % , then unplug power cable, and let the battery drain (when battery reaches 99 % you might get the x again, Ignore that for the first time.
    2. Fully Drain the battery power, let the laptop hibernate, power it back on and then let it shutdown completely.
    3. Go to Bios and see if any power is left
    4. Let the Laptop completely drain the battery where it could not be powered on.

5.Take the battery out, while the battery is out press the power button and drained ensuring no power was left in the laptop.

6.Plug the a/c adapter cable into the laptop, wait 5 mins, power the laptop back on.

    Hi CJ,

Traditionally there should be a couple of tabs on the battery or the base of the computer. One to lock the whole battery, and one to release while you're removing it. Unlock it, then remove it using the other switch. Can you provide me with the model of your computer, if this doesn't work?

    Let me know.
