Microsoft Digital Image Suite on Win 10

I have been using Microsoft Digital Image Suite Anniversary Edition on my computer running Win. 10. However a factory reset removed it. In trying to reinstall, I get the message the IE6 is needed to run it.  Is there anyway I can continue to use this software with my Win10 64 bit platform? This program has been phenomenal  for the past 12 years and I want to continue with it rather than switch to another photo editing program.

Start install from cd. It takes about 10 mins to come to the point of error. ( needs explore to install or something ) then with cd in the drive ,click on restart computer. Now you will see the rest of the files install

when the computer starts windows will tell you it will run in incompatable mode and it will work fine

Hello Danny, I seem to remember that the user is advised to first duplicate the image and save the original before editing begins. I do this even though MSD 9 automatically creates a working copy and saves the original at the top of the stack....belts and braces.

This way you can make your selection, go to the drop down menu and choose crop which has a few more choices, e.g. invert selection, etc. Assuming you are selecting something from the middle of the image the surrounding stuff will be lost ( well actually it can be retrieved but that's another story). You will then save-as your selection and basically you essentially have a new image that you can do whatever you want with. When you open another image the part-image will go to the stack and you can drag and drop it onto the new background.

Flatten and save regularly, I got into the habit as my first PC had only 128mb RAM & 8 Gb HDD but it worked well through four PCs upgrades until MS interfered.

I have had to install the Virtual thing which is not a great solution.

Item 2 Install MID 2006....onto what media? I am attempting to install it to a Win 10 x64 OS from a shop bought CD with no luck.

Item 1. I have an ISO Image of Win 8.1 x64 on DVD, I only have one DVD drawer. I can't run the MID 2006 CD and the ISO disc at the same time.

Please expand your explanation for those of us who do not read minds.
