Windows 10 Mobile Hotspot Setup Using Static IP

My university Hostel's Ethernet Connection uses a static IP. Each PC is given an IPV4 address to connect to the network. My IP is 10.1.155.242. The Internet is working properly. However when I try to share the Ethernet to Mobile Hotspot, the IP settings are not shared. When I manually added those settings to the Mobile Hotspot, it does not allow static multiple gateways. Without a static IP, the hotspot does not work on any mobile device. It gives an error 'cannot obtain IP address'. Please help me solve this issue. Thanks.

You do not have to set any static IP address on your phone. Go to the properties of the network adapter connected to the internet> Sharing tab, make sure both boxes are unchecked. Then try to reset your network connections: Open PowerShell or Command Prompt and run as administrator, copy and paste the following commands by pressing enter at the end of each command line:

netsh winsock reset

netsh int ip reset

Close and restart the pc. Then try to enable the mobile hotspot.

The mobile hotspot should be able to use it but what is the error message you receive when you enable the mobile hotspot? If you prefer, post the screenshot.

    Hi SalmanMehmood6,

When you activate the mobile hotspot, Windows creates a virtual network card with the default IP address of the class 192.168.137.1 You can not use the class of static IP addresses of your hostel network for the mobile hotspot.
