Hi Julie. I'm Greg, an installation specialist and 9 year Windows MVP, here to help you.

See this tutorial for changing Plan: https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/2843-change...

If your desired Mode is hidden right click the battery icon in System tray to open Windows Mobility Center, choose drop down menu in Battery Status and select desired Power plan which will move it into your Power Options choices.

I hope this helps. Feel free to ask back any questions and let us know how it goes. I will keep working with you until it's resolved.

    Hello,

    Welcome to the Microsoft community!

To begin, right click on the Start button, and left click on the Control Panel.

    Click on Hardware and Sound.

    Click on Energy Options.

On the left side of the screen, select Create a power plan.

Select High Radial Performance and name your energy plan. Then click Next.

Select how long the system's screen should stay on and how long until the computer shuts down. Then click on the Create button to create the custom plan.

Once you are back in the main Energy Options screen select Change plan settings.

The next thing would be to click on the blue link Change advanced power settings.

Expand the hard drive's power options by clicking on the + next to Hard Disk. Change the time shown under Turn off the Hard Disk to Never. Do the same under the Rest options for the Hibernate object Afterwards.

Click Apply and then OK. Then, close the window. Now the power management settings will be disabled.

    regards
