I have recently set up a second monitor which is identical to my first and now whenever i try to go fullscreen in some things such as twitch, youtube, the photos app, osu and much more the screens flicker on and off as if trying to change resolutions. Sometimes its so bad that they just stay black. Anyone know what the problem is?

You fail to say how you are connecting the second moitor, or whether your vidio display supports multi-monitor, and if so whether you are using extended mode or what?

And as such any response is speculative

Hi there, thanks for your question. Hopefully I can help!

It sounds like your graphics card is trying to automatically adjust resolution or identify the monitors and having trouble doing so. I've had similar problems before.

As a first step, I would recommend updating your graphics drivers to see if it fixes your issue. Depending on the brand of your graphics card, you can find the drivers here:

    AMD Radeon:

    https://www.amd.com/en/support

    NVIDIA GeForce:

    https://www.geforce.com/drivers

    Intel Graphics:

    https://downloadcenter.intel.com/product/80939/...

Otherwise, I would try starting in Safe Mode to see if the monitors still flicker:

Boot into Safe Mode to see if the problem persists:

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-au/help/12376/...

Lastly, here are some general troubleshooting steps that may help:

    Perform a clean boot:

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-au/help/929135...

Run the System File Checker tool:

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/929833...

    DISM:

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-au/help/947821...

If it's still not working, please let me know and I'll see what else we can try! Thanks!

Connected by display port, my video display supports multi-monitor, I'm not using extended mode. :)

None of that worked :( Maybe it's something to do with my Nvidia control panel?
