I'm unable to activate my Age of Empires III on steam using the product key. It keeps coming up as invalid.

I must say I'm a bit disappointed.
I've bought other games on CD before and just use the product code in steam to download the game.
If there isn't a way of rectifying this issue then I would be a lot less likely to buy Microsoft products in the future.

I bought the game. I have the CD's and everything. There are stickers inside with product keys.
